Key Text: 1 Corinthians 7:29 KJV - But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
You do not have much time to waste. It will not be long before your pilgrimage on earth comes to an end. The Bible describes life as a vapour which appears for a little time, then vanishes away. Life is like a flower that blossoms at sunrise and withers at sunset. This world is not your home; you are here on a journey that will eventually come to an end without warning.
Therefore, as you use this world, please don't abuse it because you will stand before God to give an account of how you spent your time on this side of eternity. Don't get trapped by the transient fashions of this world. Be not entangled with the affairs of this life but let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
A hundred years is not a long time compared to eternity, that is if you happen to live that long. Once again, be reminded that your time on earth is short. Surrender your life to Jesus today and live every day in constant expectation of His coming. I pray that the Lord will give you understanding so that you are not caught off-guard at His coming.
Prayer: Dear Lord, remind me always that I am just a stranger in this world and help me to be ready when my time of departure comes, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Reflection: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom - Psalm 90:12.
