THE RELIABLE COMFORTER

Dec 07 2024

Key Text: 2 Corinthians 1:3 KJV - Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.

The Comforter, in the person of the Holy Spirit has been sent to encourage believers. He is the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort whereby we ourselves are comforted by God. The way you see God will influence how you relate to Him and the manner in which you approach the challenges you encounter in life.

God loves you and wants to deliver you from your troubles so that he can use you to deliver others - Luke 22:32. He is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength. Always acknowledge God as your encourager and turn to Him in times of trouble, and He will surely deliver you. Although you may not see the Holy Spirit, He's always there for you.

There was a time when David was greatly distressed because he and his followers had lost their wives, children and possessions to the Amalekites. Besides, his followers turned against him and wanted to stone him but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God. Courage from the Lord enabled him to pray, and eventually all their losses were recovered. Be encouraged, and the Lord will deliver you out of every affliction.

Prayer: O Lord, remind me to always turn to you for courage and strength in my afflictions, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Reflection: Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us - 2 Corinthians 1:10.
