Key Text: John 12:25 KJV - He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Worldly pleasure is a fleeting experience and those that partake of it shall soon find themselves in the chambers of death. There is no profit for any man that seeks to enjoy life in this world at the detriment of his own soul. Those given to sinful pleasure are dead while they live: their love for pleasure outweighs their love for God. Life in this world, no matter how sweet, is only for a moment.
We are in the last days and perilous times are here already. We must endeavour to be vigilant always to avoid being deceived by transient things of the world. Walk in the Spirit that you may not fulfil the lust of the flesh. The desires of the flesh are contrary to those of the spirit. You must feed the spirit and starve the flesh as you strive to overcome, when tempted to love the world.
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap. For he that sows to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that sows to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Time is short and worldly pleasure is temporary: endeavour to keep your body under control, bringing it into subjection always.
Prayer: O Lord, help me! As a soldier in the army of the Lord, I refuse to be entangled with the affairs of this life, in Jesus' name. Amen.
Reflection: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him - 1 John 2:15.
