WE MUST STOP MURMURING

Oct 18 2023

Key Text: "In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly." Job 1:22 KJV

Job was a perfect and an upright man that feared God and eschewed evil. The devil afflicted him by taking away all his possessions, kill-ing all his children and afflicting him with an incurable disease. In all, Job did not murmur against God but chose rather to worship Him. Because of the severity of his affliction, Job's wife advised him to curse God and die but he refused to sin with his lips.

Murmuring and complaining are grievous sins and must be avoided if we must remain in fellowship with God. Did you know that it was the sin of murmuring and complaining that hindered the wilderness jour-ney of Israel for 40 years? Today, if you are given to a life of mur-muring and complaining, your progress will also be hindered, which may eventually lead to your destruction.

Like Job, let us learn to worship God, even when things go wrong with us. The Lord commands: "In everything give thanks: for this the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." - 1 Thessalonians 5:18. When you murmur, you are charging God foolishly, thereby inviting His wrath and judgment upon yourself. Be wise and endeavour to praise God and give thanks to Him in every situation.

Prayer: O Lord, grant me the grace to thank you always and in all sit-uations, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection: Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer - 1 Corinthians 10:10.
