There are many things calling for your attention in life but only one thing really matters the most. The most important thing is securing the assurance of spending eternity with God in heaven. After your education, what next? After getting married and raising a family, what next? After rising to the peak of your career, what next? Eventually death will come and your time on earth will expire, but where will you spend eternity? 

Do not labour for perishable things. And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: but seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things (educational qualifications, fame, properties, wealth, etc.) shall be added unto you - Jeremiah 45:5; Matthew 6:33. Remember that when your life on earth is ended, you cannot carry any of your possessions out of this world. 

Do not allow yourself to be brought under the power of things. All things may be lawful unto you, but all things are not expedient. What shall benefit you if you shall gain the whole world and lose your own soul? Or what shall you give in exchange for your soul? If you choose to seek the Lord with all your heart, He will be found by you. Come to Jesus now, because there is no repentance in the grave.

Prayer: O Lord, deliver me from every distraction that I might focus on you alone, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection: And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the on-ly true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent - John 17:3.
