LIVING ONE DAY AT A TIME

Aug 06 2023

Key Text: "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the mor-row shall take thought for the things of ..." Matthew 6:34 KJV

Let us learn to live one day at a time. Being anxious about what to eat, drink or wear has cut short the lives of many people. Anxiety and worry can lead to stress, hypertension and sometimes even death. Do not worry, tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Wor-rying about tomorrow is pointless. God supplies His children with daily grace. The grace to face the challenges of tomorrow will be provided at the right time.

Commit your ways (even your tomorrow) unto the Lord and He will direct your paths. If we strive to know God who alone knows tomor-row, we will not have to worry about it anymore. Be careful or anx-ious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God that passes all understanding shall keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

Why worry about tomorrow when you can pray? Simply trust in Jesus and He will see you through. You may plan for tomorrow but let not your heart be troubled with worry and anxiety. The God that fed the Israelites with manna for forty years in the wilderness can provide your daily needs. He is the same God that commanded the ravens to feed Elijah with bread and flesh at the brook Cherith - 1 Kings 17:4.

Prayer: O Lord, I know that you are there for me always, therefore I will not worry about tomorrow, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Reflection: Give us this day our daily bread - Matthew 6:11.
