Key Text: Isaiah 41:14 KJV - Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

God likens the children of Israel to weak, defenceless worm, and has promised to help them. If you take away Christ from the Church, it also becomes weak and defenceless. Jesus, knowing the weakness of our frame said; for without me ye can do nothing. Every Christian draws strength, wisdom, knowledge and the understanding needed to deal with the issues of life from Jesus Christ. He is the vine while we are the branches.

Daniel could not defend himself when it was decreed for him to be thrown into the lions den but the Lord delivered him. Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego could not help themselves when they were cast into the fiery furnace but the Lord also delivered them. That same God has promised to help you. He says: I am the Lord, I change not, therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. Acknowledge your weakness and let Jesus fight your battles for you.

Our strength is made perfect in weakness. The Lord will always show up to fight for us when we acknowledge our helplessness without Him. To receive help from the Lord, we must see ourselves the way He sees us, as a worm. Pride makes us think we are somebody, but pride goes before destruction. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up. Depend on the Lord and He will surely help you. Come to Jesus now for the salvation of your soul.

Prayer: O Lord, I am helpless without you. Arise and fight for me, in Jesus name. Amen.
