OUR FREEDOM UNDER GRACE

Jul 17 2023

Key Text: Romans 6:15 KJV - What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

The grace of God is misunderstood by many Christians and Bible teachers. Under grace believers are free from sin but not free to sin. The erroneous doctrine of eternal security stems from the teaching that once saved by grace, you are forever saved regardless of what you do afterwards. But Demas who was once saved by grace, later backslid and lost his salvation because of the love of the world. We cannot take the grace of God for granted because it is not a license to sin.

It is the responsibility of every one that gets saved by grace through faith, to yield to the teachings of grace. The grace of God teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts that we may live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world. Despite the strong temptations orchestrated by the god of this world, we must not allow sin to have dominion over us or reign in our mortal body.

Grace grants us access to God's Riches At Christ's Expense. By grace and through faith, the sinner is saved and the believer is sanctified and sustained in the faith. The grace of God is greater than all your sins. If you want to be saved, you need to believe and confess that Jesus is the Son of God who died for you, and His pardoning grace will cleanse you from all sins.

Prayer: O Lord, By your grace sin shall not have dominion over me, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? - Romans 6:1.
