COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS TODAY

Jun 28 2023

Key Text: Psalm 40:5 KJV - Many, O Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

David, the sweet Psalmist knew how to count his blessings. When faced with any challenge, he always remembered what God had done for him in the past, and thanked Him for it. The children of Israel in the wilderness always forgot their great deliverance from Egyptian bondage and captivity, whenever they encountered a little problem. David praised God and was victorious but the children of Israel perished in the wilderness because of murmuring and complaining.

We should choose to praise God and talk about what He has done rather than murmuring and complaining about what is yet to be done. There may be times of discouragements, when it appears that the weight of the whole world rests upon your shoulders. And there may be times when you feel alone, forgotten and forsaken. But as you begin to count your blessings, you will be surprised of how much the Lord has done for you. Beloved, you are not alone, the Lord is always there to help you.

You can begin to learn the art of counting your blessings today. Remember and talk about His help, protection, preservation, provision, to mention but a few. The Bible says, let the redeemed of the Lord say so. When your mouth is full of praise, there will be no room for murmuring and complaining. As you begin to acknowledge the goodness of God in your life by counting your blessings, your eyes will be opened to see what He has in store for you.

Prayer: Father, teach me to count my blessings so that there will be no room for murmuring and complaining in my life, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy - Psalm 107:2.
