Cry Out To The Lord

Jan 13 2017

Key Text: Isaiah 38:14 KJV - Like a crane or a swallow, so did I chatter: I did mourn as a dove: mine eyes fail with looking upward: O Lord, I am oppressed; undertake for me.

King Hezekiah was sick unto death and he prayed for healing but God sent Prophet Isaiah to advise him to prepare for death. The message from the Prophet did not stop his prayer. He prayed until God changed the verdict of the Court of heaven and added fifteen years to his life. Hannah's womb was shut by the Lord but when she persisted in prayer, God eventually answered her and gave her children. Do not stop praying until God undertakes for you.

We learn from the record of Hezekiah, that it pays to persist in prayer taking our strong reasons to the Lord. The widow woman in the Lord's parable in Luke 18:1-8 was commended for her importunity. Men ought always to pray and not to faint. Ask, seek and knock until God pleads your cause.

Have you been praying about a situation for a long time? Do not give up. The Lord will undertake for you, He will fight for you and bring you out of that unpleasant situation, in the name of Jesus. The Lord has promised to answer us when we call upon Him in the day of trouble.

Prayer: O Lord, I am oppressed, undertake for me, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace - Exodus 14:14.
