Key Text: Acts 10:19 KJV - While Peter thought on the vision, the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek thee.
God-given vision is a mental picture painted by the Lord to clarify the truth for man to understand. By the vision given to Peter, the barrier that hindered the preaching of the gospel to the Gentile world was broken. Vision gives boldness, drives away doubts and strengthens your belief. Much success was achieved by the early Church in its evangelistic outreach through visions. By vision, Ananias was emboldened to minister to Saul of Tarsus.
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Vision is needed to understand the Law of the Lord that we may keep it and not perish. Both Old and New Testament saints were aided by the power of vision to fulfil their ministries. By Vision, Apostle Paul and his team understood that the Lord had called them to preach the gospel unto the Macedonians.
Prior to the time Peter had the vision in our text, he had a wrong belief about the scope of salvation. He believed that only Jews would be saved. But it is written: "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else". He is the God of the Jews and Gentiles. Whosoever believes in Him shall be saved.
Prayer: Father, give me visions for a clearer and deeper understanding of your Word, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him - Ephesians 1:17.
