LEARN TO NUMBER YOUR DAYS

Aug 08 2022

Key Text: Job 14:1 KJV - Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

Compared to eternity, long life on earth is very brief, so let us learn to number our days, that we may know how to live wisely. It will not be long before your pilgrimage on earth comes to an end. Your time on earth is short and one day it will eventually expire. This world is not your home; you are here as a pilgrim on a special mission for your maker.

Therefore, as you use this world, don't abuse it because you will be required to give God an account of your time on earth. Do not get trapped by the transient fashions and facades of this world. Be not entangled with the affairs of this life but let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand: His coming is nearer than you think. Make good use of the time that is available to you now.

A hundred years is not a long time compared to eternity, that is if you happen to live that long. Once again, be reminded that time is short and life at best is very brief. Surrender your life to Jesus today and live every day in constant expectation of His coming. Even if the coming of the Lord appears to be delayed, death may come unexpectedly. I pray that the Lord will give you understanding.

Prayer: Father, help me to be mindful of how I spend the days of my pilgrimage on earth, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom - Psalm 90:12.
