BE HONEST AND FAITHFUL

Mar 12 2022

Key Text: Nehemiah 3:5 KJV - And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.

The Tekoites were listed in the record of the names and order of those that repaired the ruined walls of Jerusalem with Nehemiah. Although their nobles were at the work site, they were not committed to the work. They wanted to take credit for a job that they did not do but the Lord saw their deception. Beloved, be sincere about your work at your place of secular employment or your service in the house of the Lord.

Whatsoever your hand finds to do; do it with all your might and as unto the Lord. Our heavenly Father is watching and He knows both the committed and pretentious workers. It is a waste of time to pretend before men because it is the Lord that will reward in the end and nothing can be hidden from His all-seeing eyes.

The noble Tekoites in our key text might have succeeded in fooling Nehemiah but they could not deceive the Holy Spirit of God. You cannot hide anything from the Lord. You are required to be honest and faithful as you fulfill your duties and responsibilities. Therefore, whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men because your reward will come from Him.

Prayer: O Lord, I pray that the spirit of hypocrisy will never overcome me, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful - 1 Corinthians 4:2.
