Key Text: 1 Peter 4:10 KJV - As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
Every believer has a role to play in the building of the body of Christ. While some are called to move sand and cement with wheelbarrows, some are called to fetch water with buckets, and others are called to mix the mortar with shovel for the bricklayers who join the building blocks together with hand trowels. Whether you're gifted in the use of wheelbarrow, bucket, shovel or hand trowel, all are needed to construct the building.
A believer should never hoard his gifts because they are given to benefit the body of Christ. Having freely received the gift, the Lord commands you to freely give to those He has called you to serve - Matthew 10:8. Unfortunately, many gifted brethren are selling the gift of God for material gain. The free gift of God's grace is not for sale.
A good steward takes order requests, waits for the order items to be made ready, and finally delivers the order to the requester. In other words, a good steward is a faithful waiter. He is just a servant, serving the Lord and His people. It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful - 1 Corinthians 4:2. Beloved, you are called to be a good and faithful steward of the manifold grace of God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to find my place in the body of Christ, and empower me to fulfil my ministry, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: Blessed is that steward, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing - Matthew 24:46.
