Key Text: Matthew 6:24 KJV - No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Who is your master; God or mammon? Those who serve and are controlled by mammon can do anything for the sake of making money. These are people who vow to make it at all cost, whether by lying, stealing or even killing. They don't mind working for the devil, provided that it generates income for them. Beware of the love of money and come out from the company of those bound by it.
You may not have raised up a physical altar for the service of the devil. However, if your work supports or promotes the kingdom of darkness, mammon is your master and employer. It is an aberration for a fraudster or scammer to be preaching the gospel or singing in the choir - "Be not ye therefore partakers with them" - Ephesians 5:7. Do not allow the love of money to drown your soul in perdition, for it is the root of all evil.
Choose you this day whom you will serve; Satan or the Saviour. Satan may give his servants silver and gold but they will also spend eternity with him in hell. Jesus gives full salvation which comes with all that you need here on earth and secures you a place in heaven, if you endure to the end. What shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?
Prayer: O Lord, I want the full salvation that saves and keeps and satisfies the soul. Deliver me from the love of money, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: How long halt ye between two opinions? Choose you this day whom ye will serve - 1 Kings 18:21b; Joshua 24:15b.
