OUR COMPLETENESS IN CHRIST

Nov 04 2021

Key Text: Colossians 2:10 - "And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power."

A baby that is born complete with all the members of the body does not immediately know how to use those members to their full potential. For instance, he may hear the sound of spoken words but is unable to make sense out of what is being said. Also, though the baby may make sounds with his mouth, he'll not be understood by grown-ups. The newborn baby needs food for physical growth and development.

Although the newborn baby is a complete human he cannot perform certain functions if they fail to grow. Likewise, all newly born-again believers are given what is required to live the Christian life. At new birth, the Lord endows the believer with all that is needed to carry out their spiritual assignments but they must endeavour to grow in them. "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" - 1 Peter 2:2.

Building intimacy with the Lord in prayer as we feed on his word makes it possible for us to grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We can of our own selves do nothing: for without the Lord we can do nothing. We are therefore instructed to grow unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ. Read your bible and pray every day, if you want to grow.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for saving my soul. I come against every distraction as I strive to grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord, in Jesus name. Amen.

Reflection: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:" - Ephesians 1:3.
