Key Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV - Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Some things that you do may not be evil in themselves but can cause others to stumble. Therefore, for the sake of others who Christ died for, we must abstain from all appearance of evil. Every heaven-bound child of God must ensure that their good works are not evil spoken of: considering others in all that they do.
Are you a Christian? Let your life communicate the message of Christ to others. All things are lawful for you but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for you but all things edify not. Always consider the effect that your action or inaction will have on others. Endeavour to do unto others what you would have them do unto you.
Your life should point men to Christ. Anything that will defeat that purpose must be avoided, for it is written: it is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak - Romans 14:21. Let your light so shine that others may see it and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Prayer: O Lord, let me not be a stumbling block to others, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: Let not then your good be evil spoken of - Romans 14:16.
