Key Text: Matthew 7:14 KJV - Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Beware, Jesus says, "strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many I say unto you will seek to enter in, and shall not be able". The journey to find the strait gate that leads into the kingdom of God begins at salvation. Although, the hope of every saved soul is to make heaven, unfortunately, many will be disappointed because they are travelling on the fast lane of life, otherwise called the broad way.
The broad way leads to the wide gate of hell and permits travellers to carry along whatever pleases them. Those on this broad way are the sinners and backsliders on their way to eternal destruction in hell fire: every one of them is carrying a heavy load of sins. They have rejected the invitation of Jesus: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest".
Do not be deceived, the broad way may seem right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death and destruction. Come out of the broad way of sinful lifestyles before it becomes too late. It takes spiritual striving to stay on the narrow way which leads to eternal life: "And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force" - Matthew 11:12. You must strive to make heaven.
Prayer: O Lord, give me grace to avoid the sinful attractions of the broad way that leads to eternal destruction, in Jesus name. Amen.
Reflection: There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death - Proverbs 14:12.
